In the summer of 2015 I booked a cheap flight to Stavanger and stayed there for 3 days in the beginning of August. It was a neat little trip even though the weather was rather crappy.
First day we arrived quite late so we only took a quick stroll in the vicinity of the hotel.
On our second day we went to see Preikestolen, one of well known tourist spots over Lysefjorden. Being without the car we took a ferry to Tau and then a bus to get to a hiking start point. The hike itself was a bit longer then I expected and there were a lot of people on the trail, nevertheless it was a fun day.
On the 3rd day we took a sailing cruise through Lysefjorden fjord. It would have been more amazing if the weather wasn’t so bad. But it was booked in advance so we went. :) Later on we killed time before departure near the fountains and with birds, having a lovely chat with an older man who regularly comes to feed seagulls in that area. He was even kind enough to pose for the photo. :)
