Taking advantage of public holidays in Poland, I took a trip to Slovenia. Staring with overnight ride by car to Bled, then spending first 3 days in Bled area, then visiting capital - Ljubljana and wonderful city by the sea - Piran. Last, 5th day was spent in car again, returning back to Wrocław.
After around 12 hours behind the wheel, Bled welcomed us with warm and sunny weather. We left our luggages at the Airbnb place, we were staying in, and went sightseeing. :) The city Bled is very picturesque but the most known attraction is the church, located on the small island in the middle of Bled Lake. There is also a thousand year old (first mentioned in 1011) castle, right above the city that gives an amazing view on the lake and closest neighbourhood. If you’re up for a short hike, there is viewpoint on the hill, on the other side of the lake, that has even more fascinating view on the lake.
On the second day we went hiking nearby Bled, but the weather got really nasty, it was mostly raining and got cold so I wasn’t taking any pictures.
On the third day, we went to Bohinj Lake, which is also close to Bled. Weather sill wasn’t great but at least it wasn’t raining anymore. Bohinj Lake looks nice, would have look amazing on a sunny day. :) We stopped few times while riding along the lake shore, with a goal in mind - Savica waterfall. You need to climp up some stairs to get there, and there are some hiking trails in the area.
Last day of sightseeing started with Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital. In the city there are a lot of lovely bridges, so it’s a nice place for a walk. There is a lovely outdoor market in the city center with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. And castle in Ljubljana offers a nice view on the city and it’s surroundings.
